What is this ad? I mean, how cool is this ad! It's fast, fun and exciting -- The thing that we rarely see in Bangladeshi ads.
I am talking about the new RFL Mug Commercial. This commercial has all the things that the KPL's introductory ad missed. It has well known, popular cast that draws attention; it has well-retouched, well-planned, naughty scenes that are fun to watch; it has highlighted the product enough; has the present trend -- the selfies!
Here, take a look:
The ad shows that a wife is selfie-addict. Whatever she does, she gets a selfie of herself doing that -- sometimes alone, sometimes with her husband or her child. She gets through her day by taking selfies. In those selfies it is seen that she uses the mugs for different purposes. This shows different ways that the mugs can be used. I love the last scene where the wife has a fever and husband pours water on her hair with an RFL mug. Still she takes selfies! This scene alone steals the show!
I love the different scenes that the ad highlighted the use of the Mugs (The products). Usually Bangladeshi ads now have less thought in them. But not this ad. This ad shows many ways that a Mug can be used and at the same time taking a selfie!
There are so many scenes in this ad, but it happens so fast that it is fun to watch.
With this ad RFL is targetting the young wives of this generation who have tasted the fun of taking selfies. The central character is young for this reason.
Plastic products had those dark, low quality, just-for-publicity ads a few years ago. But not anymore! Plastic industry had good ads before. But with this ad plastic products will get a new honour. It will improve the brand value and that will eventually make using RFL products a matter of pride. It will hopefully be a part of a fashionable metropolitan life that would be well greeted by the new generation of housewives.
This ad will definitely give the RFL brand a boost!
